Life

1. Dropped TA class. Never heard back from Professor so wasn’t sure if I was supposed to go today because in the email she said she was going to talk to admin how to proceed. I wrote a follow-up email, no answer. I must be at class by 2pm. I must have materials ready for discussion. I must make copies. Printer says, “ink running low.” Phew. Made it.

2. Tried to do an extra med while printing. That was a half-assed job as I was trying to put more paper in the printer, my tubing kept getting caught on my chair. Tube pops off machine. It scared Ben. I just reapply.

3. Had and current have lung infection, not feeling 100%.

3. Did treadmill. Ate. Shoveled snow. Coughed very hard as antibiotics doing their job. Honest, vomit in snow. “This can happen. It is normal.” Says who? It’s fine. Must relax diaphragm.

4. Had dogs go in and out 3-4 times. They love the snow – well Chester does.

5. Made peanut butter sandwiches, coffee, have vitamins, bring lots of drugs. I filled a script – no time to get but would like it. Shower. Laundry. Must fold certain items otherwise will wrinkle. Ben whines at top of the stairs. “It’s Okay Ben, I’m right here.” Hope he doesn’t have accident.

6. Must get gas. Skipped regular sandwich shop. Got sandwiches from gas station. I seemed to remember they had a descent selection – although could be still questionable. No time.

7. On the road again. Three miles from exit, window washer fluid gone, squeak. squeak. I just got oil change – don’t they check that? They should. I was just at the gas station. Ugh.

8. Windshield was not looking good. If I drove further back from cars, will get less water on windshield. Wait – I need some water. One more mile.

9. Take exit. It is 1:25pm. Must stop at Star Market. Exit was 200 feet past entrance into store. Must turn around. I waited for light, turn, turn, park.

10. Run into the store. Sale – 2 for $5 – great.

11. Three check-out lines. No self-checkout. All the lines did not look good. Check-out lady, about 75 years old.Woman in front had child and was slowly packing her bags. Check-out lady put a gallon of milk in plastic bag. She fumbled with other items.

12. Woman said, “Can I pay some with cash and some with credit.” Check-out lady, with her poor probably arthritic hands, as I could see her knuckles, counted the cash out.

13. It wasn’t their fault I ran out of fluid. It was just unfortunate – all around. Patience.

14. Pay. Race-out to car. I flipped hood. Dumped the washer in. I turned on car. “Yes – we have washer fluid.”

15. I jumped in car. 1:37pm. Half mile down I turned into lot. Bus was there – “Yes!”

16. I jumped out of car and grabbed all my things, bus began to pull away. “Nooo… Damn it.”

17. Bus saw me, “Beep, beep, beep.” It began to back up from around the corner and kept backing up. “Yes!”

18. I jumped on. “Thanks for backing up!”

19. “No problem.”

20. I jumped off bus. “Thanks again.” I found my way to class. 1:50pm.

“Hey Tessa, I thought you dropped the TA class.”

“Did the Prof speak to you?” I asked.

“Oh yeah. She sent an email to Keira and I, said you are doin something else or something. She is going to lead the discussion section you were.”

“I emailed her a couple times, never heard anything. I thought I better come.”

“Maybe she thought you were on the email? Get out of here.”

21. Sat down to eat one of my four sandwiches: two from the gas station, two peanut butter and jelly from home. Not bad. The “Turkey and Ham flatbread with spinach” was edible and kind of tasted good. Make note for next time.
