Pitstop

I haven’t written in a while because whenever I do – my mind shifts and moves toward stories for my memoir. This is a pitstop to write, then back to the monstrosity of the many pages I am working on; painting touch-ups and putting my living room back together.

Last week I had a doctor’s appointment. I did not get my PFTs, because I needed to be home. I was having my floors done.

My doctor can no longer see patients on Mondays because she is now teaching on that day. At first, this annoyed me greatly. It makes it harder to be compliant. Although, my doc, “You are very compliant.” That was good.

I hate taking days off for my doctor’s appointments. While growing up, school days were always disrupted. I missed tests, classes, notes, etc., always having to catch up and find the person to share their notes with me. They had to be smart enough and take good notes.

I discussed the possibility of doing my PFTs elsewhere or on a different day and then meeting up with her virtually. Brigham does PFTs as well as nurse appointments. The most important things I have to do for appointments: PFTs, culture, and vitals.

She said I could get that done there if I like. I don’t love Brigham, but if my sole mission is to do my PFTs and get out – I could do it.

I am due for PFTs, and I need to get them done. I did them in MN; however, they were down from the previous, but still quite well. Whenever I am in MN, something in the air squeezes my lungs. All the inhalers in the world cannot open them enough. It is like a blood pressure cuff on my lungs. I don’t know what it is specifically in the environment. I had to stop and catch my breath at the airport on the way home from MN. When I arrived back in Boston, on the coasts where the water and salt are, my lungs breathe easier.

It is one of the main reasons I left MN. I kept getting repeated lung infections and more than one bout with hemoptysis. It frightened me. My lungs were asking for help.

Around that time, a friend invited me to California. I took a deep breath in and felt the full inspiration and expiration without coughing. Then a month later, I visited a friend in Boston, and my breath was full and deep. I knew then I was going to have to move after my radiology program.

The point of this blog, although may have gotten off track. My entire life, I have tried to be open to what the universe is telling me. My entire life, I have always followed my instincts, trying to listen to my body – always walking towards life.

This happens in tiny spaces too. I wanted to share some thing I have discovered. I have come across this awesome protein powder called Happy Viking.

I feel like I can throw bricks. I feel exceptionally strong since I started taking it in the summer. I felt like I had been missing something in my nutrition, like a deficiency. I love the strawberry. If you go through Amazon or subscribe and save it lowers the price.

I signed up for this website consumerlab.com.

Mission: “To help consumers and healthcare professionals find the best quality health and nutrition products through independent testing and evaluation. It is the leading provider of independent test results and information.”

It is like Consumer Reports for health and nutritional products. I listen to the podcast  @hubermanlab, and they referenced Consumer Lab many times. I paid for the membership. I am happy to look up something if you have a question.

Also, it is really important to take fish oils for many reasons, mainly heart health and inflammation. A great podcast about this was on Huberlabs. It’s pretty in-depth science, but there are time stamps, and if you start around 35 minutes in and talk about fish oils. The whole podcast is quite informative.

I found this fish oil is great and has no aftertaste.

Your immune system is in your gut biome. And everyone needs a good probiotic. I researched this one consumer lab. Many are out there, and I like this one for its value.

I am going to add a weighted vest when I do my treadmill. It will help my bones and cardiovascular. I feel strong enough to do it, so I am going to give it a go. Maybe a weighted vest is a good option for you.

I don’t know if any of this information is helpful –

When I think I can do something, I push a little more because I know I can. When you think you can do something, push a little more and I bet you can.

Walk towards life –

That’s all I got.

More writing news to come. Stay tuned. 💥✏️

Many blessings to the each of you. 💗
