At first glance

My treatments take forever. I am just saying, they take forever. Mentally, it is a daily exercise.

I never told you about this machine; this vest. My other one died last fall – like September or October.

Years ago when I got a new upgraded vest I paid 20% upfront to always be eligible for free upgrades for the rest of my life. Not the machines life. It was probably one of the best investments ever.

My last machine was kind of going on the downward spiral. It kept having hiccups and the company would ship out a new machine and I would pack up my machine in the same box and UPS would pick it up. It is a slick system. A quick exchange.

Well – last fall they shipped me a new machine and I shipped my old machine back, and my old machine never came back.

I didn’t hear anything for a while – and the new machine became mine. It has a slick and cool design. I have been afraid to say it out loud because I didn’t want my old one to come back after having this new one.

Since I have gotten this new slick one, I have done 902 sessions with an average of 24 minutes. I am not going to do the math – I mean who really cares. I feel the treatments; I feel the time. When in doubt – if you ever wonder what the heck Tessa is up to – probably a treatment.

At first glance, one could say “Fuck. That’s a time suck.”

When my MN doc has asked me for my number on my vest machine – it is more proof of the commitment to my health, to taking care of my health, to working-out in a sense.

I just want to point out – there are some CFers that have to do three or four treatments a day. I routinely do two; I do three – or try and do three when I am not well. They have to be at least four hours apart, so a CFer doing four treatments – their time is strapped.

And when I am talking some CFers, I am also talking little kids, three, four, five years of age doing three to four treatments a day. They look pretty cute in those little vest jackets, but who really wants to see their kid in a vest jacket. Why again for a billion reasons I never had kids.

Btw – the actual vest is vinyl. In the summer, you have to have air conditioning; otherwise, you cook like a poppin’ chili pepper or a popcorn kernel.

The goal –
Keep working hard.
It is a blessed day.
I got the book Outliers, I kind of want to be an outlier.
This life is yours to create.

There is this really great long format of an interview with Brene’ Brown and Chase Jarvis; there is actually three. I have watched, listened, or did the Bluetooth thing in my car before to listen to them – it has been a bit.

I really like the long format because you get the sense that they become really relaxed and are enjoying the conversation.

You can fast forward the first 12 minutes to get past some of the intro stuff – then kind of listen, settle-in wherever and about twenty-five minutes in she says this really meaningful thing that I have heard before but I am going to write here –

“People who love you, do so not despite your vulnerabilities or imperfections – but because of your vulnerabilities and imperfections.”

Have a listen:

I hope everyone is healthy and well, and may the sunshine down to warm your heart.
